Spring 2025 I took part in a watercolor course in Ballycastle, County Mayo Ireland at the Ballinglen Foundation. Many of the watercolors in this series were done “en plein air” and have the rain drops in the watercolor to prove it. I found the challenge of painting in the elements rewarding and the rolling hills and stormy skies of Mayo very inspiring. The many photos I took of the dramatic landscape have proved a great source material and I have continued working on paintings and prints from my photos of Mayo.
